Glass And Glazing
Our windows are Made in Britain with A++ to B energy performance ratings across the range of double glazing and triple glazing. Our top-performing A++ rated triple glazed windows are designed with energy-saving glazing technology to reduce heat loss even further. Double and triple glazing both offer effective noise reduction as sound vibrations are absorbed between the panes of glass. As we mentioned earlier, certain triple glazed units may not offer adequate soundproofing if noise from outside causes the extra pane of glass to vibrate inside the sealed unit. Magnetic secondary glazing is a convenient and effective option for owners of period and listed properties or where the homeowner wishes to retain the original windows. Many owners of older properties have double-glazed windows that are not as efficient as they could be, but would rather not send their existing windows into landfill and replace them with new ones. As well as improving thermal efficiency of single-glazed windows, our CosyGlazing system can also be installed to add an extra layer of thermal efficiency to double-glazed windows to make them effectively triple glazed. This can improve the warmth and comfort of older style double glazing, saving even more energy and CO2. Replacing double glazed windows is worth considering if they are old, damaged, or inefficient.

It’s generally cheaper than replacing windows with double glazing and can lead to energy savings by reducing heat loss, which lowers heating bills. Additionally, secondary glazing is highly effective for soundproofing, making it valuable for those living in noisy areas like city centers or near airports. It’s also a practical option for heritage or listed buildings, where altering the original windows isn’t allowed. Secondary glazing involves adding a movable second layer of glass or plastic to the frame of existing single glazed units. Installed on the casement window installation’s interior, it’s fully independent and doesn’t form a sealed unit like double glazed windows.
Check for sharp points - Slightly contradictory to the previous point (just make sure your hands are clean first!), run your hands over the rim and handle before glazing. Don’t ignore them, they’ll ruin the piece and can’t be fixed after glazing. It’s even better to get in the habit of also checking this before loading a bisque kiln, as it’s so much easier to remove sharp points on greenware than bisqueware.
