Dave Millidge, the owner of Misty to Clear, has over 25 years of experience in the industry. From the beginning he was always mindful that the cost of repairs is probably the key to most people’s budget, when using tradesmen to do work on their behalf, in their homes. Dave endeavours to offer a lower cost service to both old and new customers, that doesn’t compromise on quality. We operate directly for the customer, with no additional hidden charges or insurance costs to you – the customer. We use only top-quality glass products, guaranteeing durability and safety for all our repairs and replacements.
For repairs we carry 97% of stock on the van so if you need hinges, handles or the locking mechanism this can usually be done in the one visit and should only take around 1 hour. Instant Glass technicians are among the best and most recommended glass partition installers in London, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and throughout the South East. Our sole aim is to save you money, time, inconvenience and ensure that all of our work meets the highest standards. Small cracks in your window panes might be easy to ignore, but they’re more than just an eyesore. Based in Neston in Cheshire we work across a wide area including Wirral, Liverpool, Merseyside, Manchester, Warrington, Preston, Northwich, Wrexham, North Wales and throughout the UK.

If you have any questions or would like to find out how to board up a broken window much it would cost to restore your chandelier, please email photographs, along with approximate dimensions, to -smith.com. Sadly, the transparent nature of glass means that it is almost impossible to achieve an invisible repair, however selecting the right materials and applying them with great skill can produce a very discreet result.
We use various conservation-grade adhesives, including epoxy resins which give a similar refractive index to glass, or can be tinted to match the colour of the glass we are restoring. Yes potentially, although polishing scratches out completely can be quite a risky procedure as it may abrade the surface of the object. Instead, it is often preferable to reduce the visibility of fine scratches with the application of an acrylic glaze or varnish. In the case of very deep scratches, we would usually fill them with a thin layer of epoxy resin or acrylic glaze or varnish, however the scratches may still be visible. However, an object such as a restored glass fruit bowl could possibly be safely used, if cleaning was carried out occasionally using a damp cloth. The broken sections were then assembled and then secured in place with heated wax.
